Coatesville Troop 117 Announcements for February 11, 2009
Pack 133 Kings Highway School is having their annual Pinewood Derby this year
on Saturday March 7. (8am-12pm). Even if you can only come for an hour, your
time will be greatly appreciated!! Please let me Mr. or Mrs. Grim know if you
will be available to help.
Hope to see everyone next weekend at Camp Rodney.
The march trip will be to Beaver Creek Preserve in Elverson on March 13-15. The
theme of the campout be camp cooking. Like the Rodney, trip we have invited
some webelos to attend. This may be more popular with them as can easily be
done in a day. We want the patrols to get creative with their delicious and
nutritious menus. We will have a fire to cook lunch over.
Rock climbing merit badge this Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00 at PRG. Cost is $45.
Mrs. Myers has agreed to coordinate the church's desire to improve the vegetable
gardens that were started last year IF she gets some scouts to help. The vegetables
were sold locally and all proceeds went to The Food Cupboard. She has agreed to
help any scouts that volunteer with completing the Gardening Merit Badge.
Boys Life magazine is sponsoring a Smoking Stinks video contest. See magazine
for details. Will have time at Rodney trip if want to put one together then.

8.The following service project help requests are on CCCBSA website:
a.Build movable and modular stage for Chadds Ford Historical Society.
They will provide plans.
b.CART emergency animal shelter is looking for volunteer help.
c.Scouting program is looking for bilingual (English and Spanish) persons
to make phone calls. Also looking for ASM's for new troop in Kennett
Square.
d.Looking for scouts to interview veterans to create a historical record.
